Beatris Diaz
Beatris is a steady, hardworking student who has always put her education and family first. A lover of all animals, Beatris is looking forward to continuing her education at Community College of Denver and will be studying Veterinary Technology. She dreams of continuing on to become a Veterinarian. “I am really grateful for this Friends of Manual Scholarship. Thank you so much.” |
Travell Thomas-Maurice
Travell, an accomplished Thunderbolt football player, will be heading to Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado. He plans on majoring in Accounting and will attend the business school to major in Accounting. And, he plans on continuing his football career as part of Grizzlies! He’s a quiet leader who pushes his peers to be the best they can be, all the while making them laugh and sharing his bright smile. |
Taquaysha Shorty
Taquaysha is a hard working student who never quits, and knows how to step into a leadership role. She’s a talented dancer and helped to lead Manual High School cheerleading team as a captain. She will attend Emily Griffith Technical School in Denver to pursue cosmetology because of her passion for doing hair. She’s grown into a confident young lady who is fun, outgoing, and kind. |
Camryn Torres
Camryn is motivated, determined, and wants to fill the world with beautiful music. She loves singing and has been a lead in all of Manual’s productions since freshman year. She’s been a cheerleader all four years, and has been cheerleading captain for the past two years. She will study Musical Theatre at Howard University. She’s a strong role model who takes advantage of every opportunity to learn and challenge herself. |
Alma Castillo
Alma is dedicated, hardworking, and stays on top of her game. She's a soccer player, who led the team as captain for two years. She leads by example, and always willing to lift others up and give them encouraging words. She is dedicated to her family and loves taking care of her niece. She will pursue her education Metro State with degree in Criminal Justice. |
Brenda Gonzalez
Brenda is a kind-hearted and hard-working young woman and has been an incredibly positive influence at Manual High School over the past four years. She participated in multiple internships and job shadow opportunities across the community and is a leader and role model for other students. Brenda plans to pursue culinary arts in the upcoming year and would love to own a bakery in the future, making her dreams come true. |
Jonah Johnson
Jonah is an astute student with an evident Thunderbolt spirit. He has been involved in a wide range of activities throughout his Manual High School career and continues to learn new skills day after day. He plans to continue his training this summer working at a dog bakery and animal shelter, but plans to someday be a zookeeper, working to take care of animals for years to come. Jonah believes in his potential and says that with hard work nothing is impossible. |
Josh Robinson
Josh is in an extraordinary hard worker and has shown true maturity throughout his time at Manual High School. He is a leader in and outside of the classroom and has participated in many extracurricular activities as a Manual Thunderbolt. Josh is always open to new opportunities and seeks out experiences to improve his skills and better himself. He is incredibly determined and plans to attend a culinary arts program in the upcoming year. Josh would like to manage and run his own restaurant someday. |
