Manual’s enrollment includes subpopulations that are historically underrepresented in college (first-generation college goers, students of low socioeconomic status, students of color). To eliminate barriers to college, Manual Early College provides the opportunity for students to receive an associate degree, other postsecondary credential, or at least 60 credit hours toward a postsecondary credential, during their four years in high school.

The arts enrich our lives, communities and culture, and are vital to a child’s education. Exposure to art education promotes self-directed learning, improves school attendance and sharpens critical and creative skills. Research shows that the arts help students master subjects, such as reading, math and social studies. Study of the arts contributes to student achievement and success in school and beyond.

Since 1894, Manual High School has produced many winning athletic teams, including championships in basketball (11 times), track, girls swimming and tennis . Today, T-Bolt teams include Boys Soccer, Football, Girls Softball and Girls Volleyball in the fall, Boys & Girls Basketball in the winter, and Baseball, Girls Soccer and Track & Field in the spring. The participants gain important team-building skills, athletic improvement and increased health. And, the athletic programs instill school spirit and camaraderie.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more.

The Manual Market was established in 2017 and has seen overwhelming support from our alumni community, our greater Whittier community and the staff and students at Manual.  We aimed to begin a movement on campus where the Whole Child can be cared for and students and their families benefit from nutritious meals and snacks outside of school.

MedSchool at Manual (aka FACES for the Future) is a collaboration with Denver Health and Manual High School. The program targets highly resilient and motivated youth who come from socioeconomically disadvantaged and underserved communities, and work to improve academic and health outcomes through their interventions.

Do you have a car, truck, motorcycle, boat or RV that no longer serves you, but you don't want to go to the trouble of selling it? Donate it to Friends of Manual! Friends of Manual partners with Driven to Donate operated by Step Denver, a 501(c)(3), to facilitate our vehicle donations.

Transferring appreciated stocks and securities to Friends of Manual is a great way to make a charitable gift, and you can benefit in two ways. When you donate publicly traded stocks that have been held long-term (owned for more than one year) you may avoid capital gains taxes. Plus, you may take the full fair market value of the gift (on the date it is transferred, rather than the amount you originally paid for it) as a charitable deduction on your income taxes.

The easiest way to make this kind of gift to Friends of Manual is to have your broker or financial institution electronically transfer the stock directly from your account to ours. Please contact us for more info.

An IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows individuals 70½ and older to reduce their taxable income by making a gift directly from their IRA.
