Support Early College at Manual
Manual’s enrollment includes subpopulations that are historically underrepresented in college (first-generation college goers, students of low socioeconomic status, students of color). To eliminate barriers to college, Manual Early College provides the opportunity for students to receive an associate degree, other postsecondary credential, or at least 60 credit hours toward a postsecondary credential, during their four years in high school.
The school district receives a reimbursement of tuition through the partner college, so there is no tuition cost to students. However, students cannot afford the fees, textbooks and resources associated with the courses.
We offer two options to students: travel to community college for classes or college professors come to the school to teach college-level classes. To operate most cost-effectively, rather than paying visiting professors, Manual staff take courses to become accredited adjunct professors.
