1990-1999

Ernie is a Denver native, grew up in the Manual neighborhood and graduated from Manual in 1994. Immediately after graduation from Grinnell College, he returned to his roots and bought his first house. At the time people thought the neighborhood and the school were “scary.” According to Ernie, you just had to know where not to be and when not to be there. He continues to be deeply passionate about the NE Denver community and Manual. In 2025, he accepted the role of Board Chair of the Friends of Manual. Ernie is committed to showing Manual students that their opportunities are limitless. Those students include his three sons – Nigel (Class of 2025), Felix (Class of 2030) and Omar (Class of 2034).
